The #6 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Men's Basketball Team traveled to Garden City and defeated the Broncbusters 72-64. With the win, the Ravens' overall record improves to 5-0 and 3-0 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play.
Coffeyville jumped out early in the game and took control in the first half building a halftime lead of twelve, 34-22. Garden City did pull closer in the second half but the Ravens were able to hold them off for the eight-point victory, 72-64.
Coffeyville outshot Garden City for game 38% to 30% and Garden City outrebounded the Ravens by fourteen, 50-36. However, the Ravens took care of the ball with only nine turnovers to Garden City's 24.
Top performers for Coffeyville included;
Sophomore Tylor Perry with 16 points (3-6 shooting and 8-9 from the free-throw line)
Sophomore Larry White with 15 points (7-14 shooting) and 5 rebounds
Freshman Blaise Keita managed 12 rebounds
The #6 Red Ravens will return to action as they will host the Saints of Seward County this Saturday, Feb 6th with tip-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
