Red Ravens Defeat Rose State, Lose vs NE CC
Arkansas City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Volleyball Team split their matches on Friday, losing to Northeast Community College 3-1 in their first game and defeating Rose State 3-0 in their second. With the split, Coffeyville's overall record moves to 12-17 on the season.
Game #1 - 3-1 Loss vs NE CC
In their first game of the day, Coffeyville opened up losing their first two sets against NE CC, 25-23 and 25-23. Coffeyville fought back in the third set, securing a 25-20 victory; however, they lost the fourth set in a close 26-24 match.
Freshman Prayer Roebuck led Coffeyville with 10 kills while sophomore Ja'Nae Johns cleaned up the court with 22 digs.
Game #2 - 3-0 Win vs Rose State
After dropping the opening game, Coffeyville came out determined against Rose State, sweeping the sets with scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-21 for the 3-0 victory.
Freshman Ainsley Scott led Coffeyville with 12 kills, while freshman Genesis Walker followed with 10 kills. Freshman Libero Ja'Nae Johns was again a force on the defense with a game-high 18 digs.
Coffeyville will be back in action with a home doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, October 7th, with a 2:00 p.m. tilt against OBU JV and a 6:00 p.m. matchup against NEO.
