Wichita, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Women's Volleyball Team had a heck of a season, but the season came to an end in the Plains District A Championship against the #2 NJCAA-ranked Johnson County Cavaliers. The Cavaliers beat the Red Ravens 3-0 in the Championship final. Coffeyville ends their season with an overall record of 26-10.
In the final, the first set went quickly to the Cavaliers as they took it 25-10 from the Ravens. Coffeyville played better in the second and third sets, but Johnson took them 25-21 and 25-17 to take the three-set victory.
In talking about her team and their season, Red Raven first year head coach Deardin Kelley said that "I am incredibly proud of what we produced on our first season. We competed with the best of the best in year one. We had so many girls just buying into working hard. I'm excited for what year two will hold."
