Ravens Battle the Saints of Seward County to a 1-1 Draw

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team battled the Saints of Seward County to a 1-1 draw.  With the draw, the Ravens' overall record moves to 2-11-2, while Coffeyville's KJCCC record moves to 1-8-1 on the season.

Coffeyville struck first in the match as freshman forward Peniel Iwuchukwu got the Ravens on the scoreboard with an assist by sophomore Celeste Lira.  Coffeyville's defense held strong throughout the rest of the first half and into the second half; however, with about three minutes to go in the contest, Seward was able to net the equalizer, which tied the match up at 1-1.  Both teams battled over the last three minutes, but neither team was able to take the advantage, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Coffeyville will be back in action on Wednesday, October 15th, as the Ravens travel to El Dorado, Kansas, to play the Grizzlies of Butler.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
