Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team lost at home to the #16 NJCAA-ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons 4-1. With the loss, the Red Ravens' 2023 overall record falls to 2-3.
Hutchinson jumped out quickly on the Ravens scoring just two in a half minutes into the match to take an early 1-0 lead. Twenty minutes later, the Blue Dragons netted their second goal to go into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Twenty minutes into the second half, Hutchinson scored their third goal. In the 84th minute of the match, the Red Ravens climbed onto the scoreboard as sophomore Emely Padilha headed a corner kick from sophomore Nathalia Luiz into the net to pull within 3-1 on the scoreboard. The Blue Dragons added a fourth goal in the 86th minute to finish the 4-1 defeat of the Ravens.
Coffeyville will return to action on Wednesday, September 13th as they will travel to Arkansas City Kansas to play the #13 NJCAA-ranked Cowley Tigers. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
