Biography:

Stephen Harrel will be entering his third year as the Head Women’s Basketball coach at Coffeyville.  In his first season Coach Harrel led the Lady Ravens to an overall record of 21-10, and a conference mark of 19-7.  Sophomore Alanie Fisher was named 2nd team all-conference and Freshman Lucy Burke was named honorable mention all-conference.  In his second season Coach Harrel led the Lady Ravens to an overall record of 16-16, and a conference mark of 13-13. Sophomores Sky Jasper and Lucy Burke received all-conference and all region honors.  Before his role as head coach of the Lady Ravens program, Coach Harrel spent three seasons as the top assistant coach.  Stephen helped lead the Ravens to a 22-10 record in 2015-2016, including a 13-6 mark in Jayhawk Conference games. Three Lady Raven players were named second team all-conference that season.

Stephen helped lead the Lady Ravens to the Jayhawk East Conference title in 2015. The Lady Ravens would go on to make their second ever appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament where the team defeated Northeastern JC in the first round before losing to eventual national champion Chipola, Fla., in the second round. The Ravens finished 26-10 and had a first team NJCAA All-American in Devin Cosper.

In Stephen's first year at Coffeyville, the Ravens finished second in the Jayhawk East and were 18-11 overall on the season.

Before arriving at Coffeyville, Stephen was an assistant coach for the Labette Community College women's basketball team, and prior to that, served two years as an assistant for the men's basketball team at NEO A& M in Miami, Okla. He also was a graduate assistant for a year while attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

While at Southeastern Oklahoma State, Stephen was a two time all-conference second team selection. He was named Defensive Player of the Year and received the Sportsmanship Award following the 2007 season at Southeastern Oklahoma State. Stephen graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State with a B.A. degree in communications.  Stephen also graduated with his Masters in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation in May of 2017 from Emporia State University.

Stephen is married to Tamika Harrel who is the Honors Program Director at CCC. The couple have a 3 year old son Titus, and an 8 month old daughter Hollis.
