Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College women's basketball team continued their strong momentum since the winter break, defeating the Garden City Broncbusters 76-63 on Saturday afternoon to earn their fifth straight win.
CCC started strong, leading by eight after the opening quarter, and taking a 15-point edge to the locker room. Garden City would trim the deficit down to eight in the second half, but were unable to make the comeback inside Nellis Hall.
Sophomore Karliey Parker set a new career-high with 22 points on 7-12 shooting, also posting five assists without committing a turnover. Esme Smith finished with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Aubrey Hishaw posted a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
The Lady Ravens are 16-3 on the season, and 9-3 in league play at the conference's halfway mark. The team sits in a tie for third-place with Hutchinson, but holds the head-to-head tiebreaker after a victory earlier this month.
CCC will travel to El Dorado, and do battle with the top team in the conference in the Butler Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
