Red Raven Head Women's Basketball Coach Tony Turner Earns 400th Overall Victory as #25 Red Ravens Defeat Cowley 67-52
Arkansas City, Kan. - Coffeyville Head Women's Basketball Coach Tony Turner earned his 400th overall victory as the #25-NJCAA ranked Red Ravens traveled on the road and defeated the Cowley Tigers 67-52. With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall season record to 10-1, including a 4-1 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups. The 4-1 KJCCC record currently has Coffeyville tied for second in the conference standings.
A highlight of tonight's victory is that Red Raven Head Coach Tony Turner improved his overall career record to 400-230 (.635 Win %). While at Coffeyville, Coach Turner has a record of 136-57 (.705 Win %).
Coffeyville led early, building a 16-11 lead after the first quarter and a 32-25 halftime lead. A big third quarter pushed the Red Ravens to a 55-32 lead, and #25 Coffeyville coasted to the 67-52 victory.
Red Raven sophomore Aubrey Hishaw led Coffeyville with 19 points and 6 rebounds, while freshman Esme Smith followed with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore Sh'Ryah Wright pitched in 12 points, and sophomore guard Karliey Parker double-doubled with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Coffeyville will get back into the action this Saturday, December 6th as they welcome in the #1 NJCAA-ranked Dodge City Conquistadors into Nellis Hall. Tipoff in Nellis set for 2:00 p.m.
