Coffeyville, Kan. - The #25 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team ended its Thanksgiving break with a 67-45 defeat of the Cougars of Barton. With the victory, the Red Ravens move to an overall record of 9-1, including a 3-1 mark in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference matchups.
The game saw Coffeyville take an early lead and maintain control throughout, ultimately outscoring Barton in three of the four quarters.
Coffeyville's offense was led by sophomore guard Karliey Parker, who scored 19 points on an efficient 7-of-13 shooting, while freshman guard Esme Smith scored 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double. Sophomore Aubrey Hishaw also contributed significantly with 12 points and 13 rebounds, showcasing her skills on both offense and defense.
Defensively, Coffeyville forced 17 turnovers and held Barton to just 45 points. Coffeyville was also strong on the boards, outrebounding Barton 51-28.
Coffeyville will return to action on Wednesday, December 3rd, with a road game scheduled against the Cowley Tigers. Tipoff in Arkansas City, Kansas, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
