Lady Ravens Fall to Colby 73-55 in First Round of Region VI Tournament

Coffeyville, Kan. -  The Coffeyville Community College Women's Basketball Team hosted the Colby Trojans in the first round of the 2022 Region VI Women's Division I Basketball Tournament.  In an upset, the #6 seeded Red Ravens lost to the #11 seeded Trojans of Colby 73-55.  With the loss, the Red Ravens ended their season with an overall record of 19-11.

Coffeyville opened the game nicely, jumping out to a quick lead while outscoring Colby 14-11 in the first quarter.  However, an 11-0 run by Colby to start the second quarter had the Red Ravens on their heels and Coffeyville playing catch up for the rest of the game.  Coffeyville shot 36% overall for the game while only shooting 20% from the 3- point line.  The poor shooting combined with being outrebounded 42-28 by the Trojans was not the right recipe when playing from behind and Coffeyville fell to the Trojans at the end by the score of 73-55.

Top performers for Coffeyville in the loss were Faith Simpson with 17 points, Nakia Cullom with 12 points, and Paige Scott with 9 points.
