Raven Softball Earns Three Wins Against Independence and Fort Scott
Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven softball team earned three wins the past week, picking up a doubleheader sweep of rival Independence, and a split doubleheader on the road against Fort Scott.

The Ravens took the series opener against the Pirates, in large part due to an early offensive onslaught. Katelynn Siess had a bases-clearing triple, while Raya Eilert, Rylee Bankston, Gabrielle Simmons, and Kylee Copeland all had multiple hits.

The Ravens completed the sweep of Independence with a walkoff win in Game 2. Kaydence Pawnee pitched the entire game, and the Raven offense finished with a total of 27 hits on the day.

The Red Ravens traveled to Fort Scott, and dropped a narrow contest in Saturday's opener. The Greyhounds hit a 3-run home run in the fifth inning, and held the Ravens to just one extra base hit.

CCC would bounce back with a run rule victory in Game 2, scoring 8 runs in the first two innings. Kaylee Henderson homered and was on base three times, while eight different Raven hitters collected hits on the day.
Coffeyville is 13-23 on the season, and 5-9 in Jayhawk conference play. The team closes the regular season with matchups against Highland on Tuesday, Allen County on Thursday, and KCK on Saturday.
