Raven Softball Splits Doubleheader with Crowder College
Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven softball team battled to a weekend split over the weekend, going 1-1 against Crowder College on a trip to Missouri.
The Red Ravens dug an early hole in the first game of the day, trailing 4-0 after the first inning, and 9-2 after the second inning. Coffeyville would struggle on the defensive end in the opening game, committing six errors that led to five unearned runs.
Raya Eilert hit a two-run home run in the third inning, and freshman Scarlett Archuletta went 2-2 at the plate in the first game.
Coffeyville was able to bounce back in the second game of the weekend, scoring seven runs in the opening inning to earn a 15-7 victory in Game 2. Gabrielle Simmons earned the victory, pitching the complete seven innings and striking out seven hitters.
Eilert continued her career day, finishing with four hits and six runs batted in, including her second home run of the day. Emma Lara finished with four hits and five runs batted in as well.
The Red Ravens are 3-9 on the young season, and will travel to Metropolitan Community College on Tuesday, before hosting Eastern Oklahoma State on Thursday afternoon.
