#18 Red Ravens Fall in Road Battle to Hutchinson
Coffeyville, Kan. - The #18 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team was unable to extend their winning streak to four, falling on the road to the Hutchinson Blue Dragons, 93-77. With the loss, Coffeyville falls to 11-4 on the season, including a 5-4 mark in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.
CCC found themselves in a hole early, with the Blue Dragons shooting over 60% from the field, and 75% from 3-point range in the game's first 15 minutes. Hutchinson sophomore guard Kyrell Shaw finished with 32 points on the night, and becomes the first Blue Dragon with back-to-back 30 point games since 2020-21, after his 32 points on Saturday against Colby.
The Red Ravens would trim the deficit down to six at halftime, and would push back within five early in the second half, however the team was unable to claw all the way back, dropping their first game of 2026.
Freshman guard Jack Sorrell led the team with 19 points on 6-8 shooting, while Ulysses Webb had 12 points with four made 3-pointers, and Ke'Bari Lewis had 11 points, all in the second half.
The Ravens sit in a tie for fifth in the Jayhawk conference with a 5-4 league mark, and the team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they head on the road to face the Pratt Community College Beavers. Tipoff in Pratt is scheduled for 4 p.m.
