Another Ranked Victory as #15 Red Ravens Defeat #11 Barton 84-77

Coffeyville, Kan. - The #15 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team notched another ranked victory as they defeated the #11-ranked Barton Cougars 84-77.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 8-1, including a 3-1 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference games.

The game got off to a close start, with Coffeyville leading 32-31 at halftime. The second half saw both teams score at will; however, Coffeyville heated up from long range, sinking 9 3-pointers in the second half to outscore the Cougars 52-46 in the half to secure the overall 84-77 victory.

Red Raven freshman guard Jack Sorrell had an excellent afternoon for Coffeyville, scoring a game-high 21 points off the bench to help give a punch to the Coffeyville offense. Sophomore Konstantin Popovic scored his career high of 20 points while shooting 5-10 overall from the field and 4-8 from behind the 3-point arc.  Other contributors for Coffeyville included freshman Jeremiah Ibeziako with 11 points and 9 rebounds, and sophomore Rashid Kuta, who also had 11 points to go with his 7 rebounds.

On the stat sheet, Coffeyville outrebounded the Cougars 49-43; however, Coffeyville had two more turnovers (14-12) than Barton.

Up next for Coffeyville is a road game against another ranked opponent,  the #21-ranked Cowley County Tigers on Wednesday, December 3rd.  Tipoff in Arkansas City, Kansas, is set for 7:30 p.m.
