Red Ravens Defeat Pratt 88-77 to Advance to the Region VI Quarterfinals

Coffeyville, Kan. - The month of March brings around the term Win & Advance!  That is exactly what the #8-seeded Coffeyville Community College Men's Basketball team did in their Region VI first-round matchup defeating the #9-seeded Pratt Beavers 88-77.  With the victory, Coffeyville improved their overall season record to 14-17.

Hot shooting fueled the Ravens against Pratt as Coffeyville shot 57% (16/28) from behind the 3-point line compared to 41% (9/22) for Pratt.  Coffeyville seemed to have control of the game from the start as they led Pratt 45-39 at halftime on their way to the 88-77 victory.

Game leaders for Coffeyville included freshman Jahni Summers with a season-high 31 points (8/13 from 3), sophomore Cris Carroll with a 20 pt 13 rebound double/double, and freshman Brian Griffith with a nice stat line of 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Coffeyville moves into the Region VI Quarterfinals where they will match up against the #1-seeded Barton Cougars.  Looking back at this year's regular season games, Barton defeated Coffeyville in both matchups including a 76-69 decision (January 3rd) in Barton as well as 98-87 (February 17th) in Coffeyville. 

The Coffeyville/Barton Region VI Quarterfinal game will be played in Great Bend Kansas on Tuesday, March 12th with a Tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
