Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball Team swept all four games of their opening weekend home series against Southwestern Community College. Coffeyville defeated the Spartans 6-1 and 8-2 on Friday (Feb 7th) while defeating them 11-0 and 4-3 on Saturday (Feb 8th).
Game #1 (Feb 7th) - Won 6-1 vs SWCC

After SWCC opened the scoring with a run in the top of the second, the Red Ravens responded by scoring 6 straight to earn the 6-1 opening season victory. The Red Raven offense was led by sophomore Landin Midgett, red-shirt freshman Wyatt Pace, and sophomore Eric Bacan as all three players had two hits in the game while freshman Nathan Tajchman drove in two. Sophomore right-hander Cross Dowd earned the victory by going five strong while allowing one earned on one hit with 7 strikeouts and walking 4.

Coffeyville freshman DH Shawn Bareno helped the offense going 2-2 in the game while driving in 3. Sophomore right-hander Jackson Waggoner earned the victory pitching 5 innings allowing 0 earned on 4 hits while striking out 6 with 0 walks.

Red Raven sophomore Nathan Cruz and freshman Nathan Tajchman both pounded out 3 hits in the game with Tajchman driving in 3 runs in the 11-0 Coffeyville victory. Sophomore right-hander Easton Renn earned the victory on the mound going 5 innings with no earned on 8 hits while striking out 3.
