Red Ravens Complete 4-Game Sweep of the Highland Scotties

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball Team completed their 4-game sweep of the Highland Scotties by winning the final two games at home 9-7 and 15-11.  With the victories, the Red Ravens improved their overall season record to 18-25 including a 6-18 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) record.

Game #1 - 9-7 Victory

A big seven-run fourth inning fueled the Ravens in this one as Coffeyville pushed to the 9-7 victory.  Freshman first baseman Landin Midgett went yard for the Ravens driving in two while sophomore outfielder Harrison Smith's triple drove in three.  Sophomore Ryan Lieker earned his second victory of the year pitching the complete 7 innings allowing five hits and three earned while striking out four.

Game #2 - 15-11 Victory

After falling behind 8-4 early in the game, the Ravens plated eight runs in the fifth inning to help secure the 15-11 victory.  The Ravens offense was led by shortstop Nathon Cruz who went three of six on the day with two doubles and two RBIs.  Red Raven designated hitter George Andrews carried a big stick as he hit his seventh home run of the season.  Red Raven sophomore righty Alex Oliver earned his second victory of the year pitching five and two thirds allowing four hits and three earned while striking out six.
