Four inducted into Red Raven Hall of Fame
Maurice Douglas, Roger Foltz, Brien Hanley, and Larry Asante are the 2017 Red Raven Hall of Fame inductees. These men displayed excellence while at Coffeyville, but have also impacted lives since their departure.
The history of Red Raven football is a long tradition of winning. The tradition has not only been about winning on the field, but winning off the field as well.
In 2017, the Red Ravens have inducted four new members to its Hall of Fame. Maurice Douglas, Roger Foltz, Brien Hanley, and Larry Asante.
As each member was introduced, the stories poured in. From funny moments at practice to stories of humble beginnings. Through the stories, one theme was made evident: Coffeyville made them better men.
Each of these men have gone on to impact the lives of everyone around them since their time at Coffeyville Community College.
Douglas is a high school coach in Ohio and is currently preparing his team to compete in state playoffs. Foltz ministers inmates in Texas. Hanley has been a bright light to his family with his infectious smile and steadfastness. Asante has shown to be a role model through his faith.
The quality of student-athlete that comes from Coffeyville is evident through--not only these four--the Hall of Fame inductees. All four men went to play division one football, with Douglas and Asante playing professional football. They went on to have fantastic careers at their next college.
As we have seen in many cases where athletes don't always conduct themselves in a respectible manner. These four have gone on and changed that narrative, the perception.
On Saturday, October 28, we welcomed these men to be enshrined forever in the Red Raven legacy. However, they have always been there. Because as we say, once a Red Raven, always a Red Raven.
