The Track & Field program has sent yet another outstanding athlete to the NCAA Division 1 level. Sophomore sprinter Kimani Evans, from Wichita, Kansas, has signed at Northwestern State University in Louisiana.
"I chose them [Northwestern] because they are giving me a chance to continue competing at a high level," said Evans. "They are helping me pay for my education and I really like the team and the coaching staff."
Evans has performed well both on the track and in the classroom.
"She [Evans] has been an extraordinary student-athlete for us," said head coach Craig Perry. "She has been injured and is still one of our hardest workers. We will definitely miss her."
When talking about her time at Coffeyville, Evans did nothing but glow about her experience.
"I am thankful for Coffeyville giving me the opportunity to further my education. The coaches, my teammates, and the school have been amazing," said Evans.
